Product Description

A very popular plant in the aquascaping world, Hemianthus Callitrchoides 'cuba' is the ultimate carpeting plant. It is also very popular with Iwagumi style layouts. Being one of the smallest aquatic plants in the world, it's leaves are milimeters in size. Best planted in clumps a few cm's apart. With lots of CO2 and good lighting this plant will quickly trail and form a carpet.

How to plant your tissue culture plants:
  1. Remove plant from packaging
  2. Rinse and wash away any gel/liquid
  3. Divide plant into 6-8 portions
  4. Plant directly into your substrate
Each pot has a diameter of 60mm.  All tissue culture plants are free from snails, algae and pesticides. The cups can be kept for a relatively long time before planting (sometimes weeks) meaning you can plant when you are ready. Keep in a cool place, sub 20 degrees and out of direct sunlight. Tissue culture plants are young plants with strong roots and are in much better health than their potted versions. Only open cups before planting to avoid contamination. CO2 and good fertilization will promote healthy growth.

My favourite carpeting plant as it’s so tiny and dense and looks stunning. Worth starting it dry for a solid rooting in my opinion but can be grow submerged if experienced. Grows just fine in good light, co2 and flow :)

This plant was dead within three days PH and KH within tolerance C02 and temperature perfect levels so that just leaves light levels to low. Would not like to expose fish to higher light levels so would say very difficult little plant.

  • Quick service, fantastic plants

    I have ordered from Aquarium Gardens for the first time after seeing them on social media. Well what can I say except WOW, the plants were a really good price, they arrived on time actually quicker than I expected! They arrived in absolutely fantastic condition as if I had picked them out myself, well packaged.
