Helanthium 'Quadricostatus' - Tropica 1-2 Grow!

Product Description

Echinodorus Quadricostatus is from South America and has characteristic light-green leaves which grown 10-15 cm long. It makes the ideal mid ground plant. It forms a good contrast to the darker aquarium plants. It is most beautiful when planted in groups, each roset becoming 15-20 cm wide. In good conditions it produces runners which spread over the bottom. Very light leaves are a sign of a shortage of micro-nutrients. Demands are relatively easy to meet, so it is a welcome addition to any planted aquarium. When it is very happy it will produce runners to form new plants.

How to plant your tissue culture plants:
  1. Remove plant from packaging
  2. Rinse and wash away any gel/liquid
  3. Divide plant into 6-8 portions
  4. Plant directly into your substrate
Each pot has a diameter of 60mm. All tissue culture plants are free from snails, algae and pesticides. The cups can be kept for a relatively long time before planting (sometimes weeks) meaning you can plant when you are ready. Keep in a cool place, sub 20 degrees and out of direct sunlight. Tissue culture plants are young plants with strong roots and are in much better health than their potted versions. Only open cups before planting to avoid contamination. CO2 and good fertilization will promote healthy growth.

Lush green rosettes

came in it's little pot bursting to escape, very healthy didn't take long to acclamate to my tank sending out new runners into my sand/gravel. Lovely growth. Then I put an apple snail into my tank. It took a liking to it and ate it all, every last bit , now I have another tank for the snails and need more Helanthium Quadricostatus pity it's out of stock.

  • Quick service, fantastic plants

    I have ordered from Aquarium Gardens for the first time after seeing them on social media. Well what can I say except WOW, the plants were a really good price, they arrived on time actually quicker than I expected!
