Eleocharis acicularis 'mini' has even lower growth than the common Eleocharis parvula and was given to Tropica by Thomas Barr from US. Plant the mini-version in small portions covering a larger area. In short time, a dense carpet will be obtained. Needs light to perform optimal, however, it is one of the most secure species for craeting a carpet – and a minimum of maintenance since leaves stays small (3-5 cm). Suitable for nano-aquariums.

How to plant your tissue culture plants:
  1. Remove plant from packaging
  2. Rinse and wash away any gel/liquid
  3. Divide plant into 6-8 portions
  4. Plant directly into your substrate
Each pot has a diameter of 60mm. All tissue culture plants are free from snails, algae and pesticides. The cups can be kept for a relatively long time before planting (sometimes weeks) meaning you can plant when you are ready. Keep in a cool place, sub 20 degrees and out of direct sunlight. Tissue culture plants are young plants with strong roots and are in much better health than their potted versions. Only open cups before planting to avoid contamination. CO2 and good fertilization will promote healthy growth.

Carpet plants

Got 3 pots of eleocharis from AG, was pleased they were available given the supply problems. They were delayed a day or so but still arrived in top condition. You can trust AG with your online order of plants, especially for the harder to source or specialist stuff. V professional

Superb quality. Never had hair grass as good as this before. I split each pot into about 10 - 12 clumps and just left it alone once planted. There was no die-off at all, no brown leaves whatsoever, just healthy lush green leaves. It took a while to send out runners but now after approximately 8 weeks it's rampant and ready for it's first trim.

What a fantastic product! I managed to split this into five clumps and the roots are very healthy. I was able to wash the gel off easily and can't wait to see how this looks when it spreads!
