Bucephalandra spec. Brownie
This Bucephalandra was one of the first introduced species from West Kalimantan, the Indonesian part of Borneo. The English species name Brownie refers to the small size and the slow growth - translated, Brownie is called Heinzelmännchen / Wicht. The leaves are all-round and narrowly elliptical. Depending on the illuminance, the leaf color can vary from dark olive to red brown. Bucephalandras belong to the family of the Aronstabgewächse like the genus Anubias and Cryptocoryne. From time to time one can observe the typical inflorescences also under water.
