Cryptocoryne parva fromac Sri Lanka is the smallest of all Cryptocorynes (only 3-6 cm tall and a roset less than 5-8 cm wide). It is one of the few species that does not significantly change its leaf shape and colour depending on cultivation conditions. It needs more light than most other Cryptocorynes because it almost loses its leaf blade under water. So it must never be overshadowed by other plants. Individual plants should be planted a few centimetres apart, and after about six months they will form a cohesive low group of plants. Recommended for foreground planting.

Low light plants are my favourite, they require very minimal effort and they grow equally as beautiful, as the higher maintainance plants, in my opinion. This species of crypt is my all time favourite, since it seems to do very well in my low maintainance aquarium and it puts out new leaves every few days. The amount of plant you receive with your order, is of a fair amount, for the price. I only wish I'd used aquarium soil for my planted tank, as this crypt would do even better with nutritious soil and would flourish even more. I definitely would recommend if you are after a foreground carpet plant, with the addition of root tabs or soil, as crypts are heavy root feeders.
